i was looking through cabelas and i saw a gatling gun kit that requires 2 ruger 10/22 barrels. i was thinking about buying it and mounting it in the back of my international crew cab flat bed but i figured id ask you guys if you have used one, seen one in action, or had any knowledge about them.
im wanting to kill ground squirrels and rabbits with it this summer. any suggestions would be appreciated

I have seen a couple up for sale and thought they looked cool. Then I realized that it is another gun I have no use for

ok, hat said. I've seen these kits, both the 2bbl and 4 bbl ones and was not impressed. For one I like a practical purpose for my guns and this is nothing more than a noise maker to gather looks and make an ego boosting impresion at the range. Secondly, unless you get GOOD quality mags, it's gonna give you operation probelms. A good mag is gonna run you $50 and since you need two...

My opinon..pass on it. Take the money and buy a nice quailty rifle for your small game needs. Much more rewarding doing so with one single well placed shot than the spray and pray method.

Ya--the $400 bucks they want for it plus the cost of another 10/22 will get you into a nice 77/22(or 17) and a decent scope----and you'll have a much better hunting rig.

well for one i dont shoot at a range. i shoot out in the country, and as for the spray and pray that doesnt really bother me. a dead rabbit is a dead rabbit. whether it is hit once or 20 times....its just a little more gory when there are more holes. oh and i do plan on getting a varmint rifle , in 223 .so me owning a varmint rifle, doesnt mean i should pass up on a new toy. oh and for maturity, i guess im not mature......it is a fault im sure but hey im young....i enjoy over kill. i like to shoot jack rabbits with my 300 mag just to watch them explode, but hey i still think a gatling gun would be FUN, but hey im YOUNG. i was interested more on the gun itself not respect for the rabbits. i dont want to come off as being rude because that is not the intent of this reply. i just feel like you have your opinions on the concept of a gatling gun. and i have mine.

I guess I didn't read the original post precisely enough---I just went to the Cabela's site to check if they said it was legal or not and left it at that.

Don't know for sure about Oregon law---but pretty sure shooting rabbits in the summer would be out of season---an illegal activity-----also with non-approved weapon for rabbit hunting---another illegal activity.

In your second post---your total lack of respect for a game animal and stating that you are planning illegal acts forces me to lock this post.

A thread about a 10/22 gattling gun could be fun and interesting---but not in this context.

I plan on leaving this post up so all others can see your lack of respect AND maturity----unless GB has other ideas.

In the end--you just give gun owners a bad name and my suggestion to you is to grow up---fast.

Nuff said??
