I recently bought my second Winchester, a Mod 70 Featherweight. Finally got to go out and shoot it just a bit this past weekend. It's a 6.5x55 w/1x4 power Redfield, a very old one I bought new about 1971.
Had the scope put on at Sportsmen's Warehouse in Bend, terrible job bore sighting it. Re-bore sighted from my bench at home and got it on the paper with some factory stuff I was given. Then tried three different loads using the 129 gr Hornady interlock, with Herter 120 primer's and H450 powder. Never had much luck with H 450 in anything but a couple pounds laying around. First group was the worst, about 3/4" acording to the grids on my target's. The next two, all bullet's touching! Pretty mild loads tho so will go up when time let's me and then cronoghaph them.
Really liking this rifle!
