Just moving this to the top...

2006 P-Dog Gun - Postal Match

With Graybeard, Quick and Mac’s permission.

Thought we might have a little match before the P-Dog Shoot, just for the H&R/NEF smallbore/varmint rifles. There is NO entry cost or prizes. Only the usual bragging rights, I myself will not submit my targets since I will be scoring (my groups are usually just one hole anyway; let the BS begin). The target measuring instruments have already been certified by the National Institute of Measurements and buried in a pickle jar in my back yard where only Harley (my yellow lab and the smartest person I know) knows the exact location, just waiting for the first entry to arrive. Harley will be the backup scorer and verifier.

Thinking of 3 Classes.

Class I – Rimfire
Class II – Centerfire (Hand Loads)
Class III – Centerfire (Factory Loads)

These rules apply to both Rimfire and Centerfire:

This is for NEF and H&R firearms only.
No restrictions on optics.
5 shot group.
3X5 card for target.
Range - 100 yards.
Stable rest allowed.
No limit on number of entries of targets/cards mailed to me.
Open to members here, must have nickname on this forum.
Open to all even if you cannot make the PDog shoot in Oklahoma.

Rimfire Rules:
Only these are allowed 17 M2; 17 HMR; 22 LR and 22 Magnum.

Centerfire Rules:
Only these are allowed 204 Ruger; 22 Hornet; 223 Remington; 22-250 Remington and 243 Winchester.

SCORING SYSTEM:

Size of Group (inches) + Distance of group from center point (inches) = SCORE

Target must have a center point to measure from.

Remember scoring is the combination of group size and accuracy. Does no good to have a “1/2 inch” qroup at 100 yards, if that group is 6 inches to the right of the PDog.

Size of Group: center-to-center distance of the two holes furthest from each other.

Distance of Group from Center Point: Average distance of each center-point-of-holes to center-point-of-target.

Information to include on all targets/cards:

Nickname on the board (required)
Real name (optional)
Date target was shot (required)
Weather conditions (required)
Description of Firearm (required)
Caliber (required)
Hand Load Data (optional), if Factory rounds (Required)
Type of Sights, iron or glass (required)
Modifications done to firearm (optional)

Since the Oklahoma P-Dog Shoot is 9-12 June, Cards/targets to be in my mailbox by Friday 2 June.

PM me for mailing address.

I need about 3-4 days driving time. Will have them scored and posted before I leave.

Lets be ready for those Oklahoma P-Dogs.

Just moving this to the top again...

I do have some of my own to measure...

Don't wait too long, Oklahoma is closer than you think.

Even if you can't get to Oklahoma, shoot with us.
