I have a buddy that has rough cut CHERRY & OAK  (air dried)& (stacked properly) that is about 15 yrs old, if I would glue 3 or 4 of these together and send them out to have a stock cut, would it work suffiecently for a 270 or 06? rough cut is 1x6

You can glue up blanks and they would likely be OK. Generally cherry is fairly bland (lacking figure) and very dense. The oak is a more coarse grained wood and a bit more prone to cracking.. If all have been air dried and are sized and properly glued up they would work as well as a solid blank of the same type wood. Cherry tends to make a pretty heavy stock with a beautiful color but little figure. Laminating will not make it lighter nor improve it's figuring.. Oal makes a very poor choice for a gunstock. I would resaw the cherry to increase the number of layers and include lighting cuts, voids etc. to reduce the weight. Using a glue with a coloring agent would add a bit of eye interest to the resulting stock..
