A Toast on "Paddy's Day"
« on: March 23, 2006, 04:34:51 PM »
Here's to Good Old General guinness
 God bless'im
He's beloved in all of Ireland
 and "bonny" Scotland too
H'es the freedom of the "toon" of Aberdeen
 to the gates of Duneen
He'll warm your heart like a good Scot's broth
So, here's to Good Old General Guinness
 God bless'im
He turned the Firth of Forth into the Firth of Froth

Here's to Good Old General Guinness
 God bless'im
He stood with Greys and Meunsters
in the bloody fields of Waterloo
He stood with dead Nelson at Trafalgar
and fired and rammed his thirty two
He stood with Old Mahr at Gettysburg
 in that sad sad "Cornfield"
He would not Yield
He stood with Anzacs and Kiwis against Jhonnie Turk
 in that "butchery" called Gallipoli
He stormed across the beaches with Tommy Atkins
in that place men named Normandie
So, here's to Good Old General Guinness
 God bless'im
He's haled all through the ranks
for he sees to his duties in the casks as well as in the Tanks

He's worth ten millions
plus the medals upon his chest
And, all of the ladies that do love him
 think that he's the best
From Mollie Malone
 to the Mademoiselle from Armentierres
They'll all lift a glass to
Good Old General Guinness
 God bless'im
For, he's the pride of the Dublin boozeliers
