Ordering Handi Parts?
« on: March 24, 2006, 07:50:08 AM »
Can I get a hinge piece from H&R/NEF for an SB2?  How do I go about ordering it?  I didn't see anything on the H&R 1871 website about parts orders.

Thanks.  -WSJ

See the 2005 Retail Parts Price list link in the FAQ and Help sticky.

EDIT: Hmmm, I just looked, it doesn't list the spacer, just  the screws. Give em a call, they'll set you up. It can also be ordered from Brownells.com

Yeah, I was gonna mention Numrich, but I've placed several orders with them, and only get parts half the time, and they don't backorder, you have to place the order again, so if you can't get it elsewhere, I would leave them as a last resort. Their link is in the FAQ.

Handi Parts - Update
« Reply #4 on: March 27, 2006, 01:56:50 AM »
Actually I started with Numrich and couldn't find the part, so I took the advice here and called NEF directly.  After learning the part is actually called a "forend spacer" I was pleasantly surpirsed when they asked for my address and said they'd just send me one, gratis.  Even though it must not be too expensive and I fully intended to buy it (I asked if she was sure), I thought that was a very nice touch.  Hats off to H&R 1871/NEF.

Thanks for the input.  -WSJ

NEF has treated me very well in the past with gratis parts.

They may seem a bit rushed when on the phone, but I have no reason to complain about their service.

Have you heard the saying..."Overworked,Understaffed & Underpaid " before..? That's the way they are there...The customer service folks are pretty responsive to our calls..and they always try their best to help...I have great respect for them and the job they do.. :agree:

No complaints here, Mac.

Just offering a little explanation for the new member, Mr. Jones, should he have encountered the "Overworked, Understaffed & Underpaid" folks at NEF.

Thanks,

Brownells ... looking through their catalog is the gun guy's version of the Sears Christmas catalog. Oh yea!

Great folks.  Fast delivery, one shipping price for most products and the tech folks are accessible for questions.
