Single shot .243
« on: March 25, 2006, 01:05:10 PM »
This is simply a question about single shot .243 rifles. I figured that this would be the best place to ask for information on my query.

I was wondering how common they are? Are they still produced?

.243 single shots are currently produced by:

Ruger (#1A, B, and RSI)
Thompson/Center (Encore)
NEF (Handi Rifle)
Dakota (#10, I think they are special order item though)

Browning used to make an 1885 in .243, I think it was a low wall action.

I'm sure there are others but those are off the top of my head.

Regards,

Mike

H&R also makes the Ultra Hunter, Ultra Varmint and Ultra Varmint Fluted which are nicer than the NEF Handi. Rossi has a model or 2, also.
