I consider myself a decent fisherman, but here in western Pa. we were affected by the Hurricane on Sept 18th of 2004    The flooding washed so much sediment into our normal haunts and were not able to find the fish in 05! they were catching them 20 miles south of us, but nobody I know found them and if they did, they were'nt tellen!!!!!!! we mostly use live minnows and occ. night crawlers,and all with no luck last year! any suggestions for me try this year? they surely have'nt gone that far!!!!!!!

We don't have them down here in the deep south but I'd think plenty of time has gone by now for things to be back to normal. Any effects the hurricane had should be washed away by now. I'd look for them this year where they were before the hurricane.

some kind of flasher rig with a hook and a night crawler bounced off the bottom is my method.  Use a tri swivel set up with the weight suspended about 8in below with light line so if you snag you only lose weight.

If ya want to catch Walleye! Go to Port Clinton Ohio, go to Drawbridge marina, and go out on their party boat.  They'll take you to where the walleye are, and you'll catch fish (NO GARUNTEE) depending on the weather etc).  They'll tell ya what bait and what lure to use and give ya tip on how to do it.  You'll then be experienced.  Then if ya have your own boat, ya can spend a week or so doing it on you own.  If ya never fished Lake Erie, DON"T bring a 12 or 14 foot jon boat, its a big lake.
They'll charge ya about $35 for a fishing trip per person, and you'll have a great time.

PS:  mid May to mid June or the 4th of july is the best time for walleye there.
