Shame...
« on: March 29, 2006, 03:50:32 AM »
First of all, I’d like to make it perfectly clear that this post is not meant to attack anybody, but only to voice my opinion on some recent activity.
I do realize that this post will most likely be either misunderstood, and/or just removed by the moderators, for reasons I’ll mention in the body of my post. I’ll also confirm that it was not an accident that I cross-posted this in two topics.
I have been a lurker in this group for over 2 years, and I absolutely love the hunting and firearm forums. For entertainment, I have occasionally looked at the not-hunting-or-firearms type forums. To attempt to find some light during hard times, I have even tried out the religious forums against my better judgment. This is where I feel the need to make a comment, hopefully to inspire a few people to ease up a little.
Stroll through the religious forums and you’ll see an amazing pattern. “I’m right, you’re wrong, I’m speaking for God,  if you don’t agree with me, you’re going to hell”.  And anyone who offers an opinion that might be different from the mainstream Christian, well, they’re just a close-minded troublemaker. BS! Moderators and Graybeard, maybe you should change the name of these forums to “Christians who only think the way I want them to”. Even those who are “mainstream” can’t seem to agree on a darn thing. Almost every thread turns into a “my religion is better than yours” war.  These forums speak nothing but hate, masked by religious gibberish from people who claim to be speaking for God. After looking for answers in these forums, I have nothing but more questions regarding the existence of God and reason for religion.  The only thing these forums have accomplished is proving that every denomination of every religion is just as wrong as the next, despite that each is apparently the right one according to the believers.
This second part, related to the first, is for the paranormal-believer folks. One word: Gullible. I say this because I’ve been on these BF, UFO, and ghost sites. I’ve made up stories, created simple photos, and posted them on those sites just to see the reaction. Each and every time, my information was accepted as further evidence for the existence of the object, despite being a simple fabrication. I can’t criticize anyone for believing in something that I can’t say for sure doesn’t exist, but come on people, use your damn heads a little. Not every story, picture, or suspicion is proof of what you’re trying to find. What’s even more ridiculous is that anything proving a story or picture is false must be a cover-up or a conspiracy. It seems awfully weird that it’s the same people who have all these encounters, yet their proof is just as sneaky as the creature.

The point I’m trying to make in both threads is that it isn’t the skeptics in this group that are close-minded. It’s the believers who can’t so much as respect another person’s beliefs or opinions. So many people here say that proof isn’t necessary. I disagree. Without proof, the only evidence is within the human mind, which is undoubtedly one of the most unreliable sources in the universe. Show me something I can believe that doesn't involve trusting a human, and I might just give it a try.

You must have never posted on a forum I am a member of as I tell it just how I see it. The only and I mean only pictures online I say could be of a real Bigfoot is stills taken from the Patterson film. All others that I have seen online are fakes in my eyes.
Now I will admit that a lot of sites will believe and thing and I call them nuts even to their faces (if I was face to face with them).
In the BF world you will find 3 kinds of people. The ones who believe in BF but do not believe most of what people say (I am in this group) The ones who believe damn near anything, And the ones who believe BF is a flesh and blood animal but also believe most of the fake pictures and what fools tell them.
Try going over to the http://www.bigfootforums.com/ and posting one of your fake pictures. You will be called all kinds of names trust me :-)

Skeptic hello, I am definatly a bigfoot beleiver, I have had a few up close and personal experiences. I beleive they don't use wormholes or the such, and I just heard or read about the flying and disappearing act also. Neither of these do I beleive either.
As far as the patterson film, what seems to be the thought on the face, it looks like a ski mask to me, the entire body is so harry, ever see any other animal that did not have thin or bare patches? also the oblong cut out around the upper face and eyes, for a creature so powerful, it seems to have one heck of a monkey booty going on there? maybe a little too much padding?
Now on the religion thing, I have been there one time I think, and all I saw was my God is better than yours, and cause I beleive this way, I am going to heaven but you are not, type of thing. I got out of there quick, and refuse to go back.
