Why did you guess Vaseline? Yes it works great, and is the only softener I would reccomend trying. The few customers I've reccomended it too found no reduction in lube quality, or change in performance, by adding up to 10% vaseline, and I estimate that percentage will change the hardness of Blue to about that of Blue Soft. If you use a higher percentage, you may get some leading with stout loads that don't lead when lubed with pure LBT formula.. Just melt them together in a pan, on a coffee maker warmer is ideal as they never go over about 200 degrees. No need to stir a lot. When it's melted, just swirl it around a bit and pour directly into the lubricator, install the piston and go to work. You'll never know you put melted lube in. It will work as if you had installed a stick. A good way to measure out the quantities is to weigh on a postal scale.
