Hello Gentlemen I just picked up a new Marlin 1894 in 44 Mag. Does anyone know which reciever peep sight fits this gun? It appears to be drilled and tapped for one. Thanks. Oh, will this require a new front sight as well?
shot placement is everything.

James:
I have several receiver sights on my Marlins. I perfer the Williams FPs. Check out their catalog. They have several models.

The new ones are 1:38. I do not know if this has been the case in the past. My Marlin does well with both 240 and 265 jacketed bullets. Have not tried cast.

Thanks again. I would like to try the LBT bullets if they feed right and are not to long.
shot placement is everything.

the new marlins are no longer taped for reciever sights. If your not willing to drill and tap you need a sight that mounts on top of the reciever using the scope mount holes. The williams and lyman are side mount sights.

The Williams will screw down to the scope holes, at least on my 1894 P required no drilling and tapping. Do a google and get Williams number. There front sight can be ordered in colors other than red, go over the proper height of the front sight as this can be a problem, which I am experiencing now.

It appears that a Marlin 1894p with a Williams receiver sight will need more than a .315" HiViz front sight. I am going to order a .400 to get it together.
