Well I dunno.
What would you be using them for?
If you're after big game over 150 pounds I'd say use a heavier bullet.
For small deer at ranges under 50 yards the bullet should be adequate but why not go with the 200 to 220 grainer?

this would my deer load, deer here in east tx rarely exceed 125-140 lbs and distance would be 75 yds or less

The 175 grain silvertips should be perfectly acceptable for use on game in that wieght range.

Its not a real hard hitting round, it shoots good out of my 3" bbl.  I've never hunter in Texas, but it seems like if you are looking at factory loads, the 210 grain bullets would be a better choice for hunting.  I've taken two nice sized NY deer with 210 grain xtp loads.  One shot zipped through the neck of an 8 pointer, the other was a 140 lb doe.  Shot her in the heart, and the bullet was found under the hide on the opposite shoulder.
My last deer taken was a large bodied yearling 7 pointer.  This was a handloaded 215 grain hard cast semiwadcutter loaed to about 1100 fps out of a 657 Mt. Gun.  Not a good shot or angle, but the bullet penetrated from the butt to the shoulder and kept going.  Gotta love hard cast!
Let us know of your experience with the silvertips, and good hunting!
Praise the Lord, and pass the ammunition!

thanks jaeger and 480, i appreciate the input, i had thought originally the 210 gr would be best. i was thinking the little extra velocity of the 175 silvertips would help if the shot was out at 70 -80 yds, but the penetration performance of the 210 gr sounds good, thanks again guys and good hunting! :D
