12 gr of Unique will get you around 1550 fps. Accuracy should be good if you use a gas check.
A case full of IMR 4831, about 32 gr will be safe and get you around 1900 fps. You will have lots of unburned powder, but accuracy is really good. I have used a Lyman 311291 and a RCBS 30-180-FN with this load. I get under 4 inches at 200 yards. Again, use a gas check. I weigh my charges with 4831 but I have gone as low as 31 gr and as high as 34 gr. I get good velocity increases but there is always lots of unburned powder. I did win the Idaho Cowboy Rifle Silhouette Championships with this load, so it does work.
I use 28 gr of re7 with a Lee 170gr bullet in my 14 inch contender. This one is very accurate. I don't remember the velocity but it give one hole accuracy at 100 yards.
My disclammer is that I have never got a LC bullet to be as accurate as I get from my own cast bullets. If you find a load, using your LC Bullets, that gets exceptional accuracy, let us know.
