Have 255 grain SWC hard cast bullets. Any one have a load worked up in either H110 or HP38? will use in blackhawk.

Doc, I've been shooting the same bullet in my Ruger Bisley 45 Colt.  Can't remember the exact charges, so I'll give you the link where I got them.  I used L'il Gun instead of H110 in my loads with excellent results.  I tried from 24-25 grns of L'il Gun for an average of about 1400 fps.

Here's the link: http://www.sixgunner.com/linebaugh/dissolving.htm

Besides have great loading data, it's an excellent article about the potential of the 45 Colt.

Enjoy

For full power loads, I like 2400 for bullet weights up to about 270 gr.. Over 270 gr. I like H110. Use magnum primes with H110.  8)

24.0 gr of H110 under a 270gr Keith does 1,100 fps from my 5.5" Bisley. You can use the same load under a 255gr LSWC with similar results. This has been very accurate in my guns, some shooters report 1" or better groups at 25 yards with this load.

7.5gr of HP38 under the same bullet averages 850 fps in my Bisley and is one of the most accurate loads I've found for that gun.

Neither of these is a real monster load, I generally go to higher bullet weights when I want more power instead of pushing the light 255-270gr bullets to higher velocities.
