I just got a new open top with 5.5" barrel in 44 colt, only put about 40 rounds through it so far. 28 grains 3F Graf's with 200 grain bullet.

What do you all recomend?

That load you mentioned sounds perfect. I've also found 5.4gr hp38/W231 with a 200gr very accurate and clean. I have that same gun and havent found a bad load for it.

I've settled on 25 grains of 3f bp and 6 grains of Unique for smokless with 200 grain bullet.

One thing I have noticed is that while it groups nicely it shoots low and to the left. Think a minor sight filing will take care of that. No problem hitting at cowboy distances, but I'd like to get it dialed in point of aim.

Has anyone found a good load using 777 in the .44 Colt?
