:cb2: Ohmygosh. My favorite? I'd like to say which ever one I'm shootin at any given moment.

I guess I'd have to go with my .44 Bisley. The one with the Gary Reeder sights, not the scoped one. The scoped one my be my second favorite . . . or maybe the Bisley Vaquero might be second . . . hmmmmmmm.

I own 7 Ruger handguns.  My current favorite is a tie between the Blackhawk w/ 4 5/8 in barrel, blued in 45 Colt and the Redhawk that I found used at the local store.  It is blued with dark stocks 5.5 in barrel and real sweet to shoot.  However, I am looking for a nice used Blackhawk in 357.  Probably with the 6.5 in barrel.  Then that one may overtake one of the others???

:cb2: By the way, Boxhead, I love those grips. What are they made of, and where did you get them?

Thanks. The grips are just walnut and came from Alan Harton who did the conversion on the subject gun. Here's the start,

And here's a couple of closer shots finished,

They really look nice when held and angled to the eye, lot of fiddleback and color.

The 1S used to come in a wider selection of calibers -- I have one in 7mm rem mag -- wish I could get more.

I like the 1H in .458 win.  Have one... they don't do that anymore.

I recently got a 1H in .416 rem -- also no longer available.

My sense is that they've cut back a lot on calibers in general...

My Ruger # 1B in .308 is my favorite.  Looking for a 1S and a #3 in 45-70.

I did not see one post for the Security Six. I have four of them and my six inch stainless has over 10,000 rounds of 38spl mostly fired in Practical Pistol competition. It still shoots super groups and the action just gets better as it gets older. I have one blue with a Colt Python barrel on it which we call a "Couger". I also have a stainless 2 1/2 inch barrel which is my second favorite to the six inch. Then I just have a four inch blue one that I just couldn't pass up and now that they don'e make them anymore I wish I had bought more. I have a six inch new double action replacement which I have only shot twice as it is no where as nice as the Security Six. I have a .357 single action blue and one of the very first P85's that will shoot anything you can cram into the clip. I have shot a wide variety of 9mm bullets, and a lot of reloads and have never had one misfire or failure to function. The P85 is my workhorse automatic as it is stone reliable and quite accurate. Once I added the grip rubber finger groove cover it got a lot more user friendly. I mostly love the Security Six and really don't know why they replaced it. It must have been a manufacturing cost savings thing.

I guess my favorite Ruger is my old 3-screw Super BlackHawk in .44 magnum.

It's a super accurate dragoon-type revolver with a 7½-inch barrel and an excellent trigger.  I've thought about taking it deer hunting 'cause, in Ohio where I live, we can't use rifles for deer.  It's either shotgun or handgun, but no rifles.

I understand the "no rifle" rule was for safety purposes, but I shoot EXACTLY the same load in my old-style Ruger .44 semi-automatic carbine that I shoot in my Super BlackHawk revolver, but that load in the Carbine has a muzzle velocity of 1778 fps.... probably at least 400-500 fps faster than out of the revolver's barrel.

Although I've never chronographed bullets out of my Super BlackHawk, I'm guess it probably yields about 1300 fps with the same 240 grain load.

I can't decide between these two-

One is an Acusport Bilsey .45 lc/acp the other is a SSS built like the Acusport. I like them both interchangeably.

My favorite Ruger? that is tough because each of them are old friends that don't seem to age in the 34 years that I have owned them but if I had to have and keep just one it would be my six inch Security-Six. Well over 30000 rounds through it (two years of competition and practice will do that) and it shoots better groups now than it did when I was competing with it. It is all original except the grips, and still as tight under lockup as it ever was. I have always fired near maximum loads through it and it always puts the bullet where I want it.

A .357 New Model Blackhawk bought in 1975. It has had more than 20,000 full power magnum rounds thru it, and shoots as well today as it did the day I bought it. It got a facelift from Mag-Na-Port in 1986, so it looks a lot better now, and I still use it. There are a lot of fond memories of shooting with my father, brother and uncle that flood my mind when I hold that old gun. All three of them are gone now, but the Blackhawk keeps memories of good times close at hand.

More recently, a New Model Bisley Blackhawk 45 LC, my new hog hunting handgun, and a M77 MK 2 in 30/06, a real tack driver.

my P95 in 9mm. It's built like a tank and very accurate. After hundreds upon hundreds of rounds, never a jam with every brand and load known to mankind. What a great gun-it beats my Browning hi-power not for looks but performance.

I had a Ruger 77 RSI in 250 Savage back in 1984.  It was accurate and I used it on a hunt in Wyoming.  It was light, very accurate, and one rifle that I wish I had kept.  I believe that it beats the 243 for recoil, reach and accuracy.  I also had a 45/45ACP 4" Blackhawk that should be gracing my holster, but it is instead finding a place in my friends safe.

Today it is the 357 Blackhawk w/ 6.5 in barrel with a Galco SAO holster that is sitting on my comuter desk right now.  On Sunday it was my Blackhawk in 45.  I think tommorow it will be my CZ 75 that I am taking to the range.  Opps that is not a Ruger, so my MkII that I am taking with it.

The one I shoot the most and have had the longest is a walnut stocked 10/22.  Lots of fun.

Not a particular gun per se--but particular styles.

In all the years of buying and trading guns--I always come back to the Mini-14---10/22--and Mark II pistols.

My all-time favorite Ruger is the one I was finally able to find and purchase... a Ruger #1 International in the 7x57 Mauser... a "classic" rifle in a truly "classic" cartridge. :)

I just broke into Ruger double digits, split evenly between long guns and handguns. My favs are: No 1-V in .223, Super Blackhawk in 44 mag.,  Mod 77-V in 25-06, 77-22 and a 6.5 inch barreled Super Single-Six. Hard to go with just one but the Single-Six gets the nod.

In picking between my New Model Black Hawk 357/9mm - 6 1/2 inch blued, and my Super Black Hawk 44 Mag - 7 1/2 inch stainless, I give the edge to the SBH 44.  the larger grip fits my hand just a bit better.

#1 in 9.3x74, as soon as they come out with it.  I once had a #1 30-06.  It shot 1 inch groups at 200yds.  Like a fool I traded it off.  Wish I hadn't done that.
