First ride of the year

Headed to bird creek this afternoon to knock the cobwebs out of the machines. Was pretty decent but still a little to early. My polaris was acting up but the yamaha ran flawlessly as usual.

Steve, I was a little surprised at the snow level. On the drive down, very little snow, just patches. On the dirt road leading to the parking area, just patches. I get to the parking lot and buried my ford. I figured I was stuck so what the heck, I'm going riding.

JP, dont tempt me man, I've been looking at the rangers and arctic cats. Good thing I'm closing on a house right now cuz, I would probably have 1.
Nice rig you got.

Right now it is daylight at 5AM and stays daylight till 10PM.   We are gaining 7 minutes of sunshine daily.  It was 50 degrees here today, and the snow is melting fast.  The Bears are coming out, and in a few weeks we will be hunting them on the rivers.  A couple of weeks ago it was 20 below.  The Kings (King Salmon) start running next month.  Right now Lake Trout fishing is at it's prime, the ice is melting, the fish are hungry, almost every cast along the edge of the ice will get a strike.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

While I am glad that I can ride all year long down here, as snow is a rare thing.  I must admit that when you say the bears are coming out and you will be hunting them soon, I get envious.

We have put alot of time and miles on the Rhino since I bought it in December.  Looking forward to all summer long riding, hitting the mud puddles....
