Every body stayed at the Cole Family Inn last year. Jimmy and I already have ravastions there. Ph# 1-877-265-3466. It is a all right place to stay a bed and room at a descent price.

The "Digger Special" was gonna make the trip until we weighed the cost of fuel against the motel cost.........we opted for showers and A/C and soft beds........since fuel was gonna run more than the rooms would be.
Might have been different if there weren't gonna be four of us this year too.
We'll miss ya Bill, hope all goes well for ya with the docs and all.  :D

Marv it'll be me and all the kinfolk of the Digger.......son, son-in-law, Digger, and me. Wanna try to meet and travel together or something? I think we're going out on Thu. morning this time.

Three of us are staying in Guymon and will get up a bit earlier to meet with folks in Hooker and go back to guymon in the evening to eat and sleep.  We are staying at the Days Inn 580-338-8801.

I just reserved a room at Cole Family Inn.  Did we decide to meet in the parking lot at 6 am or what ?  I'll be coming in very early Friday morning and wanted to make sure I have the right place.  How do I get there from Guymon ?  I'm coming up from Ft. Worth but will pass through Guymon.

Buckeye ppc, Look at Texas Map On Hwy 287 east of Amerillo,
There is a Hwy turns North goes into Guymon , There you take a right on US 54, takes you To Hooker Ok.
I Can not remember the Hwy or Town to turn Off US 287.
Marv. You can not miss The Cole Fam Inn

Datil,

I thought about 287 but didn't know if I'd run into too many small town slowdowns.  I was planning to take I35 up to Oklahoma City then west on I40 to about El Reno then cut up to Guymon.  Looks like a lot more fast freeway and a lot less towns to worry about.  I plan to get into Hooker shortly after midnight and plan to sleep in the SUV at a rest stop Thursday night/Friday morning.

See you there.

Sorry I didn't think of it sooner.

Be damned sure to go slow and watch ahead for change of speed limit
signs in all those small towns.

Bowie Tex nailed me last yr. Was doing just fine at 40mph, saw a 30mpg sign and slammed on my brakes right then. Wasn't past the sign yet and the SOB right behind me fired up the lights.

Cost me $160!!!!!!!

Guess that's a get even for all the times I jarred them awake with my Jake brake those ten yrs I was trucking thru there.

No matter how long it takes, you gotta pay your dues, they say. Right??

another one down east of there I was smokin at night. Topped a hill and he had one pulled over. I got on the skids and as I went past, he pulled behind me and shut the lights off. Was 11miles to town and he followed along as I just cooled things down about ten under.  When a block from the light, he roared past me and the light turned red and stayed that way for no less than ten full minutes.  I saw him sneaking around corners a block away waiting on me to go on thru it.  Wouldn't be surprised if he was controlling the lite.

Once it changed I went a block to a corner store and got a cold pop and drained it, told a few young kids to watch it, he was huntin me.  Just barely got pulled out of the lot and he nailed one of them a block up the hwy.  Wasn't a mile down the road and I saw one sittin in the bushes plannin on ambushin me.  Only ticket I've gotten in over 20yrs.

Fair warning, take it easy, you think gas is high, just get a speedin ticket in a hick town like Bowie Tex.
