Bad news,Looks like they may shut down Shooting Range because the cost of garbage pickup.People are dragging all kinds of junk to range to shoot at,then leave it there for others to look at.They shoot cement blocks, full cans of paint! Hope not for my grandkids sake.

It really is sad what people do.  I went down there once last year.  It was the only public range (read no charge to shoot) that had a 300 yard distance.  It was set up in a perfect little hollow.  It was early on in the small game season and seemed to be getting quite a bit of use.  I hope things work out even though I have recently joined a local club and probably never get back down there.

Last time I was there a pack of guys came in and ran me off, I never went back. It's just not worth getting robbed or raped for.

They came in driving a couple old pick up trucks, proceded to toss some beer cans or bottles, (I don't remember now) at me, one guy started looking through my car while the others weren't talking very friendly. I created some breathing space, quickly placed everything in the car and left. I'm never unarmed when at the range.......and that day was no exception. If I ever go back again it will be with others so that can't happen again. I will not be a statistic.

Have you guys & gals been to the public range down near Garards Fort?  I drove by it a few times in the last month doing work for Windstream(formerly ALLTEL).
