that is what I do, and I have also used water with a few drops of hand dishwashing soap in it.
Rinse liberally and swab out with patch and dry and you should be good to go.
the important thing is to "flood" the area in question so the "salts" from the corrosive primers is washed away or "neutralized"
Yesterday I just had plain drinking water on hand, washed bolt and brl off by "hosing' down and it was good to go till the next day when I cleaned it thouroughly.
