My 1894 44 mag jams

Good Morning.
I just found a used 1894 in 44 mag. There is only 1 thing I find a bit annoying with it. It jams, not the highly written about "Marlin Jam", but when I lever in a new round,  the cartridge will stick going into the chamber. The tip of the bullet starts into the chamber, but the cartridge stays at a slight angle and stops.  Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bob,
                             Sounds like the carrier might need an adj.I would call Marlin Cust service line it is an 1-800-544-8892 8am to 430pm eastern time weekdays. You can't beat Marlin for super cust service. Another thing is what type of round are you using in your 1894 44 mag? Hope you get it worked out.

Well I think I solved my jamming problem. I was using some loads that I made up for my Super Redhawk, 240 gr Speer jacketed soft points. I had set the crimp in the middle of the cannelure. I made up some dummy loads with the crimp at the top of the canneluer, and bingo no more jamming, even when I work the action slowly.

O.A.L. is very important to all Marlins lever actions, regardless of caliber. Had the same trouble with my 1894 and 1895. Once you find the length they like you're set.
