Magnaport Custom Super Blackhawk

Long story short...I have a certificate for a Magnaport custom job on the handgun of my choice...no charge other than shipping.

I have a FA M83 44 Magnum scoped Premier I hunt with and want an open sighted gun in 44 also.  Found a stainless SBH 44 magnum with a 7.5" barrel in excellent condition that seemed very tight and smooth for $360 and caved in and bought it.

I plan to send this gun to Magnaport for a custom job.  My current thoughts...

1. Although it seesm odd for a gun going to M-port, I am thinking no porting due to concerns over noise and comments that it helps with muzzle rise but not recoil.  The recoil of these guns is tough on my wrist and for that I have heard that different grips might help more than anything.  Magnaport recommended Uncle Mike's due to quality issues they have seen with Pachy recently.

Alternative would be to spring for a Bisley gripframe.  Hmmm?

2. Complete action job...obviously.

3. C-more sight conversion

4. Change to Belt Mountain base pin

I am thinking of a few decorative changes, but would like opinions on those and any other options you might suggest.
Be honest with yourself.  Can you guarantee you would hit a paper plate at 250 yards...100 yards...50 yards?  Then you have no business replacing the plate with a live animal.

Ken Kelly at Mag-na-port has done several guns for me.  He is a great guy, a gifted gunsmith and their service is first rate.  You will be very pleased.  Definately have it Mag-na-ported!  There is a real difference in the felt recoil.  As for the noise factor, if you were standing 10 feet to one side, you might be able to tell a difference but I never have been able to when firing a gun with or without.  They are all to damn loud when you aren't wearing hearing protection.  If you are, you can't tell the difference anyway!  I think the noise factor that people worry about is mostly in their mind as they look at the ports and think, won't that send some noise up?  Trust me as a long time pistol shooter (40 yrs), it's a non issue.  Have Ken do the polished rings on the gun too, you will love them.   44 Man
This is my Baby.  A pre-warning Super with a 5" bbl and c-more, Gold plated trigger and hammer and pins.  I've got to get a new picture as she is wearing stags now.

Years ago I had Kelly and Mag-na-port do a 41 mag blackhawk for me, he also jeweled and polished the hammer and trigger.
It was an excellent job, and I could tell the difference in felt recoil.
Noise? HUH? The 41 mag is so loud anyways, who would know...
plus, I'm thinking the ports were so close to the end of the barrel, what difference would it make. The 41 mag is loud when you touch it off in the woods, wheather ported or not, I could not tell the difference myself.

I hear the name Ken Kelly being used in 44 Man's post....
Must have been a long time ago when I got my gun ported, I remember the name Larry Kelly...I think....Boy, I'm getting old!!!
