CSLC Ram record set
« on: April 22, 2006, 10:56:28 AM »
Today was a historic day at the Consolidated Sportsmen of Lycoming Co. near Williamsport, Pa. For the first time in the 24 year history of our HP range a 10 was shot on the rams. The shooter was Derek Greenaway and he went on to shoot 16 to tie the HPHR national record. This may not seem like much to brag about but our rams are considered to be the toughest in the land. They sit high on the side of a mountain and the angle you have to shoot at really takes you out of your normal shooting position. Then you have to try and figure out what the wind is doing at that height above the firing line. The club has had a cash bounty on them for about 10 years. Many of the best shooters from many states around have walked off the ram line shaking their heads after trying to figure out what just happened. On behalf of our club a hearty congradulations goes out to Derek for another fine shooting performance.   Al Foust

He's gotta stop doing this stuff! Seems like after every one of your matches we're wearing out our keyboards sending congratulations!  :)

Tell him we said 'good shooting'...

Way to go Derek....Once you get used to that new Anschutz 5022 trigger on your old Rem. 700, there will be now limits on what you can achieve...Geeze, I'd reckon that 250 pigs in a row with that fancy HP hunter rifle of yours is your next goal....I hope you have a high volume Dillon press, cuz it looks like you are going to need it....Congrats...Marv

So it has FINALLY HAPPENED!

For those who haven't shot at Consolidated - close to Williamsport, Pa -
Those rams are a little better than a 45 degree Upward angle.

There's almost no way most of us can get the vital elbow to body support to get a decent hold.

For those who have shot at the Murdock farm near Zwolle, La (usual site of the La state match for H.P.) -  this angle is even worse.

Derek's record is even better considering that it was raining hard, cold and with occasional wind.
