test shots with the lee 500r with the gas check

went up to the farm and test shot the lee 500r bullet with the gascheckit was a little bit blowy at first then the wind settled shot this 6 shot group at 400 meters i am realy pleased with the 500r with gascheck it is 6and 7/8 by 3 and 5/8 the gas checks realy work well.the target was on a 6x6 ft black background best group i have ever shot at a long range, its a lot of luck in it not my shooting abillity.probebly never do it again lol.

Thats good shooting at 400 meters buddy, congratulations. I am sure you WILL do it again, and most likely even shrink the group a bit!!! I'll bet those 500 grain bullets hit like a frieght train!!!....<><.... :grin:

it is absolutely amazing what a little gascheck can accomplish with a lead or lead alloy'd bullet.   it takes the worry out of micro-grooving; and it greatly helps to substitute for a copper jacket at reasonable velocities.   mike venturino a long time ago (24 years or more) used gaschecks to solve his problems with micro grooves and lead bullets.
