Perhaps if you looked around at some of the local ranges or gunshops you could find a mentor with a good reloading setup willing to let you learn by watching him or her while they load their ammo,or maybe even load some of your,if you supply the needed material.
You might make a friend and at least learn how to get started the right way.
Caution beware frauds and wannabes!!!!

Good luck,

Im not about to reload for a caliber that comes in surplus (like .223, 7.62X54R, 30-06) and whatnot, those calibers I can easily obtain them from surplus ammunition websites.

I'll be mostly reloading 30-06, then shifting to .223

Ummm.....Not to nitpick, but what's with the .223 flip flop ?
As for a case trimmer, I'd suggest you get one also.
The brass will need trimming after a few firings at best, maybe
even sooner.

My goal is to learn how to reload for the 338 win mag and my 375 h&h.  I was told by a local reload instructor to start with a non-magnum case.  So I decided to start with the 30-06, once I learn that, I'll switch to .223 (for my semi auto)  then finally, I'll start realoding only for the expensive magnums.  the whole purpose of this is to reload for the 338 win mag and 375 h&h (and my soon to come 416 rigby, but thats not for another 4-5 months)

And to answer 992 ~
I did find a local reloader, he told me to buy a bunch of books on reloading (did that) read into them and then mabye he can sit down with me and show me the basis.  He is out of town until July.

nasem...I live in Livonia, MI and would be willing to meet you either at Cabela’s or at a Gander Mountain and walk you through things.  I have been reloading for around 13 years and have read half dozen manuals cover to cover along with hundreds of articles on shooting and reloading.  I could help if you’re interested.  Just PM me.

I agree with all the rest, reading is the one thing that helped me the most.  I started reloading to save money and now I reload hoping to find an odd ball cartridge to reload that would be fun and a challenge.

I have a reloading bench in the basement and reload for several pistol and rifle rounds.  I could teach you things that others taught me and it wouldn't cost you thing.  I would just be returning the favors my friends have given me in the past.

My wife once made the mistake of telling me "all of your guns look alike"...No, I've had this gun for a long time! LOL
