o-ring effectiveness synthetic vs Woodne

does the O-ring tend to be more effective with a Synthetic stock or wooden stock>?

Probably same results..   being that the placement of the o-ring would be to allow a free float without sanding or grinding away of the bedding.

If your synthetic forearm is resting against the barrel without one, placement would probably elliminate that contact.  The good thing about the synthetic would be it doesn't swell with differing weather, thus a more stable result.

If you put the O-Ring on a Synthetic forarm, and tighten the screw, the forearm shouldn't touch the barrel, of course the whole purpose of "floating" is for nothing to touch in the first place. Wood is easier to work with usually, but my 243 has the synthetic forarm and it's cranked tight against the barrel-Shoots great too. Try it a couple different ways to see what works best.

i worked around the snug fit, ya know a little tighter or looser. but it won't hold a group so this time it's the O-ring's chance see what happenes.
