I dont have A metal detector yet but...

When I was A kid I did find some some cool stuff here in north N.J. first was A cannonball I believe was from the revolution(Goerge Washington had his headquarters in Morristown), second was one of Thomas Edison's early lightbulbs in one piece! I still have both.

Wow! Those are some cool finds! When you do get a detector you should get back out to that site if possible and see what else you could dig up. It sounds like that could be a very promising site to search on. Thanks for sharing, Reddog
