anyone use old hand loading tools?

I load my 45-70 &50-70 BPCR shells with old ideal tong tools.  38-55's are loaded with an old Ballard type straight line bullet seater.

The accuracy seems to be better if I don't resize the cases anyway.

I started out loading back in the mid 60's using a lyman 310 for my 30-40 krag. Been thinking of getting it back out and checkin to see if i can get some 40-65 dies for it.

Years ago, before all the modern availability of BP components, a friend had me make up some ammo for his Winchester 1886 iin .40-82.  I found a Lyman nutcracker tool with attached bullet mould and trimmed down some .45 Basic brass.  He brought me a target that had five shots in 3 inches, that he had shot at 100 yards.  I wasn't too impressed until he told me he readjusted the sights after each shot.  Nuff said about the accuracy of the old tools.

Yep,
Iv'e got an Ideal 44-40 tong tool. The decapper is broken so I use a 4 inch nail with the end filed into a pin shape to fit into the flash hole.It has a bullet seating die that is an integral part of the casting.
It even has it's own bullet mold, forward of the hinge.
What I like most about it is that you can do the whole reloading job with a tool no bigger than a pair of pliers.
cheers,
gazz.
