Bushnell 3200 vs Burris Fullfield 11 vs Sightron 11
« on: April 30, 2006, 07:06:11 AM »
Can't decide which one and need help. I am going to be putting this on my Inline muzzleloader. I have decided that i want this to be a 2 x7 scope.
All prices are about the same, is there one scope that is better than the next. Any input on the models i have choosen or any suggestions.

I would go Burris with the B-Plex reticle, I bought a 3x9x40 last week for a very good price and I am very happy with the optics.

Several pards are happily driving Sightron and Sightron 2s. They claim the 2 is a cadillac for the money.

Not sure a B-Plex is warranted on a smokepole.

killdeer, sorry my bad

  You are very correct.
There is still a lot of snow on the ground here so my brain must still be frozen too. But I still like the FFII. I have heard a lot of good things about the SSII though.

You bought a nice scope and that reticle will provide you with alot of fun.
Hope you get a chance to drive her at  300 yds or so and let us know how she does.

I prefer my Burris FF II over my 3200, especially late in the evening, seems clearer and brighter. I have 4 Burris and one 3200, all 3x9x40's. Also like my Buckmasters over the 3200.............

Can't speak to comparative optic performance or light gathering, but Burris is a quality product. If you will be using the rifle in low temperatures or in rain or wet snow, Bushnell has rainguard. If you accidentally exhale on the lens when lining up for a shot, you'll still have enough sight picture to shoot. Rain and snow bead up on the lens in tiny droplets and you'll have a decent sight picture even in a downpour. Light gathering ability can give you a few more minutes of shooting time during the best part of the day. Check the scopes in low light conditions, consider the weather conditions where you'll be hunting, and choose based on your needs.

They are all good I have all three The Burris is a fine scope and ussually comes with a spotting scope. I think the 3200 is slightly clearer to my eye. and the rain gaurd has gotten me an elk when it was wet and nasty. the sightron has by far the best warranty. Life time over the counter trade. But I have used it twice. ? you wont go to far wrong with any just get the one that suites you best.

I own Burris and elite scopes.  I prefer the Elites.  That's not to say that the Burris is a bad scope, but I own two of them, and I really don't like them that much.  The optics are not as good as the Elites (apples to apples), and they don't have rainguard, which is a feature that I like, and that I use.  Also, I have a scratch on one of my Burris scopes and I have no idea how it got there.  I am VERY careful with all my scopes, and none of them have any scratches on the lenses.

I have Burris Sig 3x9. Good scope, no problems, more expensive than 3200's I think. I have Bushnells 4x12, 5x15 and Bushnell Trophys 4x12 and 6x18. Trophys aren't quite as brite, but they don't cost as much. I've got the Trophys on spring piston airguns. Spring piston airguns are a real test for a scope. The double recoil will destroy scopes. I know, I've had several other scopes destroyed on top of airguns. The Trophys, no problem. If Bushnell can make a scope that stands up to airguns then their scopes have got to be good. I've got the 3200's on centerfire varmit rifles and they are brighter than the Trophys, but that's what your paying for. Better optics.  The only other thing to consider is eye relief. I think Burris tends to have longer eye relief, which can be a good thing on a muzzleloader.
