Factory barrel program

Can a person mail their frame and stocks to the factory through USPS and the factory mail it back you again and be legal.
Also what is the cost of shipping to the factory I was thinking it would $15.00 or $20.00 average. Plus the normal $ 85.00 Plus the fitting cost of 15.00. That is almost the cost of a new rifle why buy the new brl.

  just thinking

Yes you can just  mail it to them. Unless your state has a law against it. The shipping is like $10. Just make sure to use the smallest box you can get.

Another alternative 45North is to keep your eyes open for a good used barrel on this (and perhaps other) H&R sites. Many times if you are there at the right time you can buy a good or like new centerfire barrel for $65-$75, sometimes that is a shipped price.  Regular shotgun barrels are much cheaper and can be had for between $30-$45. With a little handiwork you can fit most barrels to your reciever yourself. All the instructions you need are available through the FAQ's here. Barrel prices have been going up lately (as have all prices) as some try to get here what they might gey on e-bay, however there are still many good guys here that would rather sell "locally" to a friend on this site for a more reasonable price instead of getting all they can out of a barrel. Keep looking and I am sure you will find what you want. Of course some here have had thier fill with self fitting and just send thier recievers to the factory for a guarenteed job (and free trigger job if you ask nicely!), any problems, and they do occur, and the factory fixes it for free, usually no questions asked. The warranty and customer service on the fine little guns is top notch, and they are made in America!!! I have done the barrel thing both ways and will do it both ways again, each has its good points, it's all up to you!!!....<><....
