I generally DO NOT engage in debating "war"; it is a subject that I find most civilians do not understand.  The calculus of war is very simple, no matter what you may think of it; you either want to win or lose. And, to "...stop the war in Irak..." is to committ to failure which is immoral. One of the things that I do rather enjoy about this forum on H/R and NEF is that it is, up until now, apolitical.  For the record, I am professional military, retired, once you're in the tribe you're in the tribe plain and simple.  I Have three nephews in Iraq, two in 1st Armored and one in my beloved Marine Corps.  My son is preparing to go, back, Navy.  They are there because that is where they belong.  I must say here this "Stop the War in Irak" is patently offensive to me and to them and I will further say that anyone who hacked into this forum with this screed is no man, not even any part of a man.  I do not wish to hear any crap about "1st" amendment rights, that doesn't count when you are in a war that you must win.  If I encounter any such screed in the future I shall reconsider seriously my enrollment in this website as anyone who would put this "crap" out in this manner is a bully and a coward, and not woprth my association.

You seem to lack understanding of what happened here.

It was NOT with GBO Management's approval this happened. I'd love for it to have NOT happened but it did. The sad fact of life is you really cannot stop a good hacker. No one can it is just not possible. The US Government with all it's money and manpower can't and certainly we can't here. So if you wish to leave because a hacker hits us I say to you don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.

I feel the same way you do about the person or persons who did it. I can assure you I've spent massive manhours and money to avoid it but it still happens and we just cannot buy protection. It's NOT OUT THERE. I personally have spent the majority of my day removing as much of it as I can. It took me two hours just to fix the site name, forum names and restore use of the site. There are almost 100,000 files affected. It is humanly impossible for me or me and my moderators to repair the damage one at a time.

Matt is pouring in hours of his time trying to devise a program to undo what has been done.

What have you done of value? Have you edited it out of any thread you started? Have you offered any help? Or have you merely condemned me for a hacker hitting my site?

If that's what the Military taught you then you failed to learn the lessons they were teaching. If you wish to leave go by all means. But you're not helping by making more posts to waste my time responding to you when I could be deleting it from more threads.

You're either part of the solution or you're part of the problem. Which are you?

The bit about leaving was with instantaneous "animus" and represented rather the moment than any considred judgment of long standing.

In days gfone by, I would have this individual taken down to the after fire room where a good "BT1" would be waiting to make him "see Jesus".  Please, my outburst represents more the impatience of old age.
