Hi there Mack,

How's it goin? OK here, same stuff, different day as the old saying goes.

We've gotten a few letters from Mitch. All is well. The stuff you might expect, blistered feet, and he's caught a cold that's kickin his butt, but he's highly motivated and his attitude seems really good. He's talked about a place at Knox called "The Pit" which he said just about whipped everybody. There was another platoon where some knucklehead stepped on the D.S. hat. He said their whole platoon was taken to the pit and really put through the paces. He said they came draggin back in at the end of the day.

He told us about doing some dummy fire exercises and doing the obstacle course. He did great in everything but had some trouble with the rope climb. This next week they're going to do a live fire exercise which he's looking forward to and they're also going to do the gas chamber which he's probably not too crazy about. He has just been issued his own rifle which he is really happy about.

I'll let Mitch fill in the rest of the blanks. He wanted us to log onto the site (Graybeard, etc.) with his account and say hi ect., but I'll let you do that. I may pop in there eventually, I don't know. Too many irons in the fire right now.

Here's Mitchell's address. He would appreciate as many letter's as everyone feels like sending. Please post it on the site as well. I would appreciate that.

I can tell he's missing home. I'm missing him too. I pulled in the other day and saw his little Dakota and I thought, "Good....Mitch is home...." and then I remembered.....Darn! I wanted to talk to him about going fishing.

From what I get from his letters, I think he'll graduate in early August. It will be Basic and AIT combined.

Well, I gotta get goin. Thanks for everything and I appreciate your friendship with and interest in Mitch.

I'm bad about the e-mail thing, but I'll try to stay in touch.

So..send the young man a letter or two...I always did enjoy getting something at mail-call..
