Choate stock
« on: May 06, 2006, 12:42:46 PM »
I have a Savage 12FLVSS in .22-250 Rem.  It came with a factory plastic stock.  I'd like to upgrade to a better stock one of these days, but choices in aftermarket stocks for short-action, left-handed Savages are very limited.  I was considering the Choate Varmint or Sniper stock.  Does anyone have any experience with these?

I'm familiar with Richard's micro-fit stocks, but I'd like to stick with something that's pillar-bedded (or, in the case of the Choate, has an aluminum bedding block).

I have 4 Choate stocked H&R Handi rifles, really like them, and they tamed the recoil on the 308 and 45-70. Accuracy was also improved.
