Hello,
I just registered on this forum about an hour ago.
When H&R had a forum on their site, my brother and
I were registered, we really enjoyed it. I thought
about getting a handirifle back then, but I ended up buying a
savage bolt. However, my brother did buy a 12ga. pardner. I really enjoy
that gun. Now my little brother wants to go hunting and
needed a gun, so we went to Walmart and bought one of their new combos. It is synthetic stocked with 30/06 and 20ga. barrels.
The gun is being ordered in. I can't wait to get it and try it out.
It looks like this site will be very informative and helpful.

No, Hunman55, the 987 stands for Sept. 1987 which is my birthdate.
I'll try to let you guys know when I get the gun.
Thanks again,

We received the gun about two weeks ago, but
have not had a chance to try it out yet.
It looks real nice with the synthetic stock
and nickel receiver. It locks up real nice as well.
I finally figured out today why the rifle seems so
short compared to our bolt rifles. That's because the bolt
action needs extra room for the action, therefore making them longer. I'll try to let you know when we start shooting.
