Looks like the doe will fawn in our doe bed again
« on: May 07, 2006, 03:39:28 PM »
Two years ago we clear cut a small once acre section of aspen and beach. We left all the 10" trees we cut lay right where they fell. It became a tangled mess so thick you can't walk through it.

Last year, the saplings were about 3 foot tall, and we had a doe give birth in there to a single buck fawn.

I just kicked her out of there on Saturday, and it looks like she is using the exact same spot...a little hole about 10' in diameter where we dropped trees right across it. She practically has to belly crawl to get into it.

As I was driving by on my quad, I saw her stand up in it. This bedding area is connected to a 1/4 acre food plot, which has a trail that leads down to a watering hole and onto our 2 acre clover plot. The trail that connects these three areas is about 200 yrds long.

I have two stand locations along this trail. The set up is too cool!

Anyone seeing any deer this spring?
