Sorry for this, but I'm an insomniac, it's 2 am and I'm bored to death. This just popped into my head, so I figure I'd share.
Today, it occured to me how strange my luck is, espcially considering how darn hard it is to find DWs where I am on the East Coast. There is this one local dealer I've been going to for years, with odd coincidences lately.
You see, there's this one corner, in one of the display cases, which has the eerie tendency to always contain what I'm looking for. When I was looking for an older, low-cost starter DW in .357, there's a W12 complete (and unfired!) pistol pack sitting in "my" corner. I wanted to look at a Monson DW Mod. 15. One is waiting for me in my corner. When I was looking for a S&W 442, I go down there to look, and sure enough, there's a 442 sitting there. When I wanted to start a Smith N-Frame collection, I dreamed about how it would be to ogle the big bore on a nice Mod. 25, especially one that took the long colts. Guess what's in my corner? A S&W 25-2. After that I was leafing through some gun books, pining for a smooth, sleek S&W Mod. 14 or 15. Later I take a drive down to the gun shop. Yep, it's a K-38 Masterpiece sitting in my corner.
Which leads me to today. I have had this thing for the DW 357 SM. I don't know why, but I just love that particular gun, and have wanted one for years. So I happen to be thinking about that gun this weekend, and how great it would be if I found one. I go down to the shop this afternoon. Guess what's in "my" corner?
This is a small dealer. The chances that I'd find what I'm looking for, and always in that same corner, and with such specific and uncommon items, should be incredibly slim.
You guys ever see that movie "Needful Things"?
EDIT: Oh, and, hello everyone!
