Determining the age of K-4s
« on: May 09, 2006, 08:52:35 AM »
Can anyone direct me to a source of historical information on the Weaver K-4 scope? I have a couple of K-4s on old rifles and am interested in their age. Both are blued steel but they are very different. One is simply marked "Weaver K4-1 USA" and has an eyepiece 1.2 inches inside diameter and an objective 1.35 inches inside diameter. The adjustment turret is marked "micro-trac" and the adjustments are made using a coin -no click. Duplex reticle. The other is marked "Weaver K-4, El Paso, Tex, Patented, USA "and there is a diamond with a capital S at the bottom. Click adjustments. Eyepiece 1.165 ID, objective smaller at 1.065. Post and crosshair reticle. How old are they? Is there a good source of information on these old timers?
