Just returned from hunting New Zealand. What an incredible place to see!
Our new Encore Pro Hunter ML accounted for 7 animals. Here are the first 2:

Congratulations Rich! Looks like Sandi might have a bit bigger stag there.  How do you like that new fangled 90 degree breech plug and how well do the gas rings keep the blowback out of the breech?

I have 200 rounds through it and it has functioned as promised, no blow back into the breech what so ever.

Omega, I have the same question as flinthead.  "What load/bullet were you guys shooting? What kind of groups are you getting with the P.H" and which primers are you using?

I am going to try the same loads and bullets I use in my Encore 50 Cal. I am using 90 gr. of triple 7 powder and 195 gr. Precision rifle dead centers. The only difference I will have, I use the 25 ACP primers in my regular Encore, I can't get my Pro-hunter modified with the 25 ACP. So I am going to use Remington Kleen bore primers.

Those are beautiful stags!  Are the improvements worth the price on the newer rifles.  The pices around here are crazy, and I bought a new Encore last year.

We shoot 150 grains of pyrodex pellets and a 250 SW.
The regular SW will group at an inch all day and the bonded SW at 1 1/4".

I use Winchester 209 primers. I gave up on T7 two years ago, maybe it is time to try it again.

Some of the improvements are just pretty (fluted barrel, engraved receiver) and some like the adjustable hammer weren't important to me. The special stock, 28" barrel and quick remove breech plug are important to me and very worth while.
