made this muzzel protector from a 45/70 case cut down and the flash hole drilled out to fit the ram rod it fits the 50 cal nice and snug and works on the .54 cal as well.it also keeps the ram rod in place

datsa good idea. I'll hafta make me one o' those. Good use for brass.
I think "peral" is spelled p-e-r-i-l.

thanks black jaque i did not see i had out an a instead of an i. the muzzel gurd works realy good and it is always there on the ramrod .
