RANGE REPORT!
I thort my other 10/22 had a Butler Creek barrel. It don't.
It wears a Shilen h-bar, Leupold 4X12 AO and if I remember right Volquartson drop in hammer and a walnut stock.
I shot it side by side the Clerke/Hogue combo.
No difference that I could see for a quick half hour range sesson with a stiff breeze ahead of a thunder thumper that cut the session real short real quick.
All shooting at 50 yards, benched.
CCI mini-mag, Winchester h.p. white bulk box, PMC target, CCI subsonic, and Fed. Wally world bulk match, all ran at and under 0.5" with most shots clustered in one ragged hole from either rifle.
Federal hi-vel h.p. bulk, went into an easy 3/4" which is minute of squirrel.
I have a long way to go but this will do for a starter session.
So far I see no difference between the Shilen and Clerke barrels and both rifles fed all ammo flawlessly, even the old Russian "Senior" match junk that grouped 2.5" and went pow, plop, pow, poof.
Niether are what I could call tack drivers so far. A tack driver gives .250" at 50 in my estimation but I'll happily settle for 0.5".
