Only 175.00 to spend on a scope !
« on: May 13, 2006, 06:37:40 AM »
Thats it, please don't say save for a Leupold. The scope will go on a new Remington 750 Woodmaster. I've had it with Simmons,Tasco, Bushnell and Meade products. So what choices do I have left ? It should withstand a few knocks, hold poi and be bright enough to shoot those lase few minutes before dsark. Can you offer any suggestions ? Thanks

Nikon Buckmaster or Bushnell Elite 3200

And,  yes, the optic zone has some great deals, and the best service.  I think that the last 7 or 8 scopes that I bought were only from the optic zone, and for good reason!

Why not look for a used Leupold scope, if a Leupold scope is what you really want. But if you want new, Bushnell Elite 3200.

I was out shooting a couple of my rifles today, my new Lupie wasn't as clear as my Burris. No more Lupie's for me. Will stick with Burris, Buckmasters, , Bushnells and Nikons.........

Great, maybe if more of you think that way, the price will come down.  :-D

Buckmasters scopes are made by Nikon.

I would take a look at the Nikon Buckmaster or the Bushnell Elite 3200.  These scopes are going to give you best quality for the money.

:) Scopes have come along way in the past ten years. Many are as good or better for the money than that "good old brand". If you can look thru some side by side, you can see what I mean. Jon will steer you straight.

Although I love my Elite 4200 I have not been impressed with the 3200's.  The Burris FF2 is another to consider. They hold up to some heavy recoil.  WDO

Only thing I would add would be to stay away from Mueller scopes if you want light gathering.  I was out a couple of weeks ago, a friend of mine could see better with bare eyes than I could through the Mueller.  The light inside did more to blind me than anything else.  Scope had done fine otherwise, but forget about using one when it starts to get dark.

Give the Sightron a good look.  I like them a lot, and they seem to be highly regarded by most knowledgable shooters.  As a matter of fact, I'm hoping they'll come out with a handgun scope.  Steve
