I have a S&W 4506 with a nasty trigger (very hard), even in single action mode. I've been told that this gun cannot have trigger work done to it. Is this true? If not could any gunsmith do it or should it be sent to S&W Performance Center, if they work on gun for the general public.

I have a 4506 and a 1006 that have both been to Wayne Novak's in West Virginia. He is very good. I'm sure others also do them. I have sent a 25-2 to the Performance Center for an action job and it is now very nice. Call both and see what they can do.

I fixed the trigger on my 4506 myself. All you need is a Wolff spring kit from Brownells, and the felt trigger pull will improve 100 percent. It's a simple job and well worth your time.
