hello;

just purchased a marlin 336cs from an estate sale. anyone reload for their 30/30, 170gr. bullet, with h335. hodgdon list 30.5 gr. as max. worked up to max. load and cases show no sign of pressure with 30.5 gr of h335, easy ejection of fired case. speed was 2145fps, with hornady bullets. thanks for any input.

sounds like you have a good load worked up there. I have used H335 for 150 grain bullets and it worked very well.

30-30 is a low pressure round, by the time you see the standard signs of high pressure you will be way over max.

I have used H335 with pretty fair results. I don't have data in front of me at the moment, but I think if you back off of max, you will see tighter groups.
