Front sight question
« on: May 15, 2006, 07:36:28 PM »
Just picked up my 4570 handi today, and have a front sight question. I wanted to put the globe front sight on it, with the williams FP sight in the rear, But the front sight is screwed on, not dovetailed. I have seen a screw on ramp that has a dovetail slot cut in it, would that work ok? Im assume the only other option is to have a dovetail cut in the barrel, which Im not really wild about doing that, as it would probably cost 50 bucks or so, Im guessing.
What say ye?

See the Peep and Firesight link in the FAQ, the williams shorty ramp has a 3/8" dovetail in it and it has the same 6x48 mounting screw as the late Handi barrels, they make different sizes and styles of the ramps.

Bernie's right, on a BC, the lowest 17A sight which is the .404", works best and with no ramp, so with a ramp the .404" will be imperative. I'd get the shortest shotgun shorty ramp, the 1/8", it's even on sale!

Another option would be to use their streamlined ramp and one of their hoods, depends on the type of front sight you desire.
