is there some slug or buck shot for the 10 ga and can it be use for big game?

All the dinosaurs are extinct!! Actually, I started a thread here about the 10 ga. slug gun as a self-protection item in grizzley country, looks to me like a double barreled 10 ga. with slugs would just the cat's meow for dealing with a charging bruin. All a guy is going to get off is two shots anyway, and with a dbl. barreled gun you can get off two shots in quick order, which is probably going to be necessary in that situation. That's my take on it anyway.

What kind of sights would you put on the double barrel, or would you just leave it "as is"?

Express sights. They're fast to use and up close you don't need precision.

I just checked the Federal website and they offer a 766 gr. 10 ga. slug that makes 1280 fps at the muzzle. That's a lot of SMACK!!

:grin: I have 6 boxes of those 10 ga. Federal thumpers stashed and will send my NEF receiver and wood to be fitted with a 24in. cylinder bore barrel with rifle sights in the near future. Should cost me less than $100 total. This is through the H&R/NEF barrel program. A good deal, guys. Hunman55

And, you'll end up with a gun that'll kill anything on the planet if you put that big chunk of lead in the right spot.
