Pistol scope on a Handi

How do you think a pistol scope would work on a Handi-rifle? I am trying to figure out a way to use low rings. If a pistol scope wouldn't work how about  a scout type scope? Also, Bushnell has long eye relief scopes with about 6 inches of relief. Would that be enough to mount the scope in front of the hammer?

You can use low rings if you modifiy the hammer, see Low Profile Hammer Modification in the FAQ and Help sticky.
