Problem with Burris Signature rings and dovetail bases ??
« on: May 18, 2006, 06:47:12 AM »
History:  I mounted a Fullfield II with Burris dual dovetail bases and Signature rings on a Remington ADL last year-- no problems.

Today:  I and my friend am mounting his new Fullfield II on his new Remington ADL he just recently bought.  I mounted the bases and installing the first ring and POP, the ring broke from the base.  I didn't do anything differently than before.  Was using a 1 1/8 dowel rod and greased the base and dovetail per the instructions.  I think the base or ring or both were defective which caused them to lock up.

Anyone have a similar issue?  What are your thoughts on Burris replacing the base and ring (I didn't install the other one)?

Many thanks.

Burris took care of it, they are replacing the ring--although they are not replacing the base for some reason.  We'll see what happens.
