Right now it's my 1895 XLR 45-70...topped with a Leupold VX-1 2x7x33 scope in Leupold QRW's and Warnes steel bases...It's the nicestlooking, best balancing. most accurate Lever gun I own...and easy on the shoulder for hard thumping 300 grain Noslers ...

My Marlin 336C in 30-30. Shoots a Speer 170 grain bullet at an honest 1 inch at one hundred yards.

It used to be this 1926 winchester model 92 in 38-40

But now i think it will be this winchester model 94AE in 44 mag

and hopefully I will be use it to shoot a deer with a rack like this

My Marlin 1894C 357mag. It shoots 357mags and 38specials. holds 9 rounds pairs great with my dan wesson monson pistol pack. has very little recoil. It will also have a scout mounted scope scope on it in time

and upgrade the sights.

I like all Lever actions!!! My sentinental favorite is my BLR in 243, killed my first 5 deer with it. However I recently got a 336 in 30-30, that I have a blast shooting everytime I take it out!!!

I currently have two lever action rifles. I like them both for different reason so picking which one I like the best is almost impossible. My dad gave me his pre '64 (made in '62) Winchester Model 88 308 Win. that he bought when he was 16. I've shot two deer with it so far. He also bought me a Marlin 336CS in 35 Rem. when I was 16. I shot one deer with that. I've had a few other lever actions over the years, but these two are keepers!

My favorite lever action? Holy Cow! Is it my Winchester 94? My Marlin 1894C? My Puma 92 in .454 Casull? Or is it a number of guns I have owned in the past, but traded or sold for one stupid reason or another? Nope! It is a gun I don't even own and have never owned. It has to be a Marlin Model 30AS in .22 L.R.!!!

The only one from adolescence until my forties was my Dad's Winchester 94. It had performed some special deeds on the ranch for us over the years, but the greatest one was that huge wild Santa Gertrudis Steer that needed to be dropped where he stood with one shot between the eyes, and it worked.

My favorite action is the 336 Marlin, my favorite model is the new 444XLR. I have a Win. 94 that is a "slick" shooter and a '92 Puma with a 16" BBL that is "handy" to carry, but the Marlin's are the ones I like best in any configuration.

This is the same Glenfield 30A with the scope mount changed to Weaver scope rings that sure give it a better profile.... I like it better.

My favorite is a 1972 .444S Marlin with Weaver K2.5 scope using Hornady Light Magnum ammo. In its first season last year it produced one-shot kills on a 5X5 mule deer and this "trophy" cow elk, both at less than 75 yds.

It would be: 1). Browning .308 BLR bought new in 1971;
2.) Sako Finnwolf .243 bought new in 1972;
3.) Browning .358 BLR bought new in 1980; and
4.) Winchester 88 .243 bought used in 1996 and re-chambered/re-barreled to .35-284 in 2003
The BLRs are great for quick snap shooting--almost invariably when I throw one to my shoulder I find I'm looking at my target very close to where I hope to aim. The Sako Finnwolf is as accurate as my Sako bolt rifles. all of which shoot MOA with good loads. The .358 would just HAMMER deer at any reasonable range (sold it in a VERY weak moment), and the .35-284 is fairly close to a .35 Whelen or a .350 Rem Mag in an accurate Lever action.
I've chrono'ed Hornady light mags in 165 gr through my 20" barrel .308 BLR at 2720 fps; and 225 gr Nosler partition handloads through my 25" barrel .35-284 at 2630 fps with no visible signs of excess pressure. This should make a good load for game larger than deer , but I'll load it down to .358W levels for our smaller Texas deer.

Well, let's see...........first it was my Marlin 1894SS 44 mag, then my 336C in 35, then the 1894C in 357, then the 336RC in 30-30.

But they've all taken a back seat to my Marlin 375. Beautiful wood, great lines, and a cartridge every bit as good as the 35 Remington, and maybe even better. All five of them wear identical 2X7 Scout scopes, and all shoot MOA or better, except for the 357. But I'm not done working on the handloads yet!
