Mini-Cannon fuse?

I was wandering around in the fuse quick site & saw the visco cross match at 1mm. Other than being fast (5 seconds an inch) Is there some reason it won't work for mini-Cannons & mortars?

I saw this fuse on Skylighter.com awhile back. I went so far as to e-mail them and they replied that this fuse is identical to the very thin green fuse used in some firecrackers.

The only reason I never ordered any was that Skylighter has a $30 minimum order.

With the restrictions on shipping fuse (private individuals can't legally do it), it's not feasible to buy a large stock to split among several people unless they are within driving distance of one another.

pyrocreations had about 5800 feet of 1/16 inch fuse in stock a few days ago. That is not much (for them anyway), so they took it off their web site.

If you want some, e-mail Steve Gamble at pyrocreations ( pyrocreations01@yahoo.com ) and make sure he still has some. If he does, what he will tell you to do is place an order for the 2.2 mm fuse, and then tell him via separate e-mail to substitute 1/16 inch fuse instead.

They do not have a minimum order. Shipping is reasonable, but make sure that if there is anything else you need that you order it at the same time, as the shipping will be less in general per item if you order it all at once.  They have lots of amusing stuff (the fourth of july is coming up). The flying fish fuse is lots of fun to play with (info on their site... it is cool stuff - i just "played with some" a few minutes ago and was impressed with what can be done with it.)

Jeeper1, what I meant is that private individuals can't legally mail fuse to each other.

I buy all my fuse online. Dealers are required to have the permits and forms necessary to comply with postal regulations on the shipping. And believe me, there are LOTS of regs, I checked.

I can't, for example, order a large quantity of fuse and then mail portions of that purchase to others.

I was contemplating doing that exact thing, but a little research into the USPS regulations quickly put an end to that notion.

UPS regs are different from USPS so you might be able to send it that way unless the hazmat charges apply, which would make the cost absurd.

From what I understand, fuse shipped by UPS is subject to the HazMat fee.

Fuse shipped by surface mail does not require any additional fees, just lot'sa RED TAPE.
