Range Report for .308 Cal. Remington Woodsmaster 750

First Range Report

Took twenty rounds of Remington Extended Range 150 gr .308 cal. to the range today.  After some difficulty getting on paper I shot for group with five rounds. First three shot group was 1.0  inches, the second two shot 'group' also 1.0 inches. Had trouble with jamming when I had four rounds in the mag. and one in the chamber. With three held in the mag on firing---no more jams.

I am a happy camper. I plan to get rid of the 'garbage' Millet mounts as they do not fit properly and were the cause of my sighting-in difficulties. I plan to get Leupold as I should have in the first place.

Now I must learn to shoot this rifle 'off-hand' in time for fall hunting.

This rifle is a 'shooter'!!!!!!!!!

I fired three boxes of factory ammo in my 750 last weekend with no jams but i didn't load one in the chamber with four in the clip  i loaded four in the clip so when i let the slide go there were only three . I'll try it the way you did just to see what happens . But as a general rule i never load to full capacity., the clips last longer if you dont . at least thats what i was told as a boy with my marlin 22 7 shot clip i load 6 i only load 3 in my remington pump 30/06 and when i was shooting 20 round clips in my 223 i loaded 18.I even put one less in my lever actions. You shouldn't be having a problem with the gun jamming on full mags.  I shot Remington autos for years, and always hunted with full mags and one up the pipe.  

The problem may be corrected easily by a slight alteration to the magazine, however, I'd advise you to have it looked at under warranty.
